Islanders are characters that choose to stay on Maple Island rather than traveling to Victoria Island and choosing a class. The initial intent to stay an Islander was brought about by Maplers who devoted time to helping newbie characters entering the game with quest items and a small handful of mesos, but in turn created a determination to be the strongest on the island using only the weakest monsters in the game to level up.
